Según las ultimas pubicaciones del periodico local de Mijas, los vecinos de Sitio de Calahonda seguimos sin recibir ninguna subvención para el asfalto de nuestras calles……According to the latest publications of the local newspaper of Mijas, the residents of Sitio de Calahonda still do not receive any subsidy for the asphalt of our streets….

Hace algunos meses, se pidió al consistorio que incluyera alguna subvención para el asfalto de algunas de las calles de nuestra urbanización en los presupuestos del año que viene y no nos han contestado, por lo que esperábamos que llevaran nuestra propuesta al menos para ser tenida en cuenta. La última edición del Mijas Semanal, publica que se han adjudicado casi 200.000 euros para el asfaltado de algunas de las urbanizaciones que nos rodean, y sin embargo no mencionan nuestra urbanización, por lo que no tenemos mas remedio que seguir actuando como lo vamos haciendo desde hace años.
Las obras realizadas en Sitio de Calahonda han sido sufragadas al 100% por los vecinos de la urbanización, esto incluye asfalto, acerado, rotondas, parques, jardines, pluviales, vallados, y un largo etcetera, por lo que las cantidades invertidas han sido cuantiosas. Es cierto que en ocasiones hemos recibido alguna ayuda para el asfalto, pero solo en el caso de la remodelación de la Avda de España-Oeste y las cantidades no llegaron a los 30.000 euros, en un proyecto de 400.000 euros.
Todos nosotros vamos a las zonas «recepcionadas» de Mijas, y podemos observar grandes obras que incluyen saneamiento, aceras, asfalto, etc, todo ello sufragado integramente por los vecinos de Mijas, es decir, nosotros mismos; vemos con asombro como pagamos incluso mas impuestos que otros y no recibimos nada a cambio. Tambien observamos barredoras, renta basica, jardineros.. que limpian, cuidadan, protegen (limpian arroyos y zonas verdes), y conservan, mientras aqui no llega nada. Despues de pedirlo con insistencia, y como ocurre con el resto de lo mencionado anteriormente, lo tenemos que hacer nosotros mismos, sin ni siquiera tener respuesta.
Por otra parte, hemos visto que se ha adjudicado el proyecto de la senda litoral que pasa por nuestra zona, y despues de muchos años pidiendo un acceso digno a la playa de Calahonda Beach, vemos con perplejidad que tampoco esta incluido en el sendero, por lo que tendremos que seguir bajando a la playa como siempre, a traves de un arroyo que en muchas ocasiones es impracticable para una persona normal, piensen en la acesibilidad para un minusvalido o para un carrito de bebe.
Estamos a la espera de la auditoria encomendada para evaluar el estado de las urbanizaciones para ver su posible «recepción». Nosotros ya llevamos 50 años esperando, y mas de 20 años de EUC, construyendo nuestras propias infraestructuras, conservándolas y adecuandolas a la ley. Esperemos estar haciendolo bien y no tener que rehacerlas, para la posible «recepción».
Desde la EUC de Sitio de Calahonda, seguiremos trabajando y pidiendole al consistorio que tambien somos vecinos de Mijas, y que por lo tanto deberiamos de ser tratados de la misma forma que el resto.

A few months ago, we asked the Town Hall to include some subsidy for the asphalt of several streets in our urbanisation within next year’s budget, but they haven’t replied. However, we did hope they take our proposal to at least be taken into account. The latest edition of the Mijas Semanal, published that almost 200.000 euros have been awarded for the asphalting of some of the urbanisations that surround us, but they do not mention our urbanisation, so we have no choice but to continue acting as we have been doing for years.
The works carried out in Sitio de Calahonda have been paid 100% by the neighbours of the urbanisation, this includes asphalt, pavements, roundabouts, parks, gardens, drains, fences, and a long etcetera, so the amounts invested have been large. It is true that sometimes we have received some help for the asphalt, but only in the case of Avda de España and the amount didn’t reach 30,000 euros, in a project of 400,000 euros.
All of us go to the «received» areas of Mijas, and we can observe all the works that include sewerage, sidewalks, asphalt, etc., all of which are fully paid for by the residents of Mijas, that is, ourselves; we see with amazement how we pay even more taxes than others and we receive nothing in return. We also see sweeping machines, basic income staff, gardeners … who clean, take care of, protect (clean streams and green areas), and maintain, while nothing comes here. After asking for it insistently, and as with the rest of the aforementioned, we have to do it ourselves, without even having an answer.
On the other hand, we have seen that the project of the coastal path that passes through our area has been awarded, and after many years asking for a decent access to the beach of Calahonda Beach, we are perplexed that it is not included in the path and that we will have to continue going down to the beach as always, through a stream that on many occasions is impracticable for a normal person, so imagine the accessibility for a disabled person or for a baby pram.
We are waiting for the audit commissioned to evaluate the status of the urbanisations to see their possible «reception». We have already been waiting for 50 years, and more than 20 years being an EUC, building our own infrastructures, maintaining them and adapting them to the law. We hope to be doing it well and not have to redo them, for the possible «reception».
From the EUC of Sitio de Calahonda, we will continue working and asking the Town Hall that as we are also neighbours of Mijas, therefore we should be treated in the same way as the rest.
