The Month of June
Office
June marks the beginning of summer and is also the month in which preparations begin for the Calahonda Day celebration. During this period, our staff — both office and technical services — have been particularly busy organising the event. We liaise with the Town Hall, sponsors, and other parties to ensure that the annual celebration is a complete success.
In addition, the office has commenced the preparation of invoices for the second half of the year. Before the deadline, reminders were sent to residents who had not yet made payment for the first half, asking them to do so before 30th June to avoid additional charges.
We also published a new issue of the magazine “Noticias de Calahonda”, which is produced in collaboration with the board and the office team. Once the content has been reviewed and adverts updated, Sara translates it into English. Once printed, the magazine is distributed across various points of the urbanisation, and is also uploaded to our website and social media channels. The magazine continues to be one of the preferred sources of information for homeowners and is sponsored by local businesses.
Public service remains one of the most important responsibilities of this office, allowing us to stay in close contact with residents and respond efficiently to their needs. During June, we received and handled numerous reports relating to the collection of recycling containers, damaged bins, faulty street lighting, and pest issues. All such matters were promptly forwarded to the Town Hall, which is responsible for addressing them.
Garden waste management has also been a key concern this month. The increased activity of gardeners has been reflected in the high number of requests and notifications received. We remind communities with internal containers that the office collects garden waste requests throughout the week and compiles a list, which is then sent to the recycling company to carry out collection during the following week. We also have a drop-off point at the rear of the office on Calle Monteparaiso, intended exclusively for Sitio de Calahonda residents, open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m..
We thank all residents for their cooperation and would like to remind everyone of the importance of reporting any issues so we can continue to improve our services.
Maintenance and Cleaning in the Urbanisation
With regard to activities carried out in public areas, following the completion of the scheduled works under the Fire Prevention Plan, we have continued with pruning, garden maintenance, and numerous interventions on our streets. The arrival of summer visitors typically brings with it an increase in incidents and unforeseen issues.
In addition, illegal dumping has been detected in green zones and has been duly reported. We take this opportunity to encourage residents to notify us if they witness such behaviour, or alternatively contact our security service directly on 695 22 39 64.
