Mijas Town Hall has stressed that the Local Emergency Plan is now fully activated. “We have deployed preventive measures throughout Mijas, reinforcing emergency services, the Fire Brigade and Civil Protection, Operational Services, and Parks and Gardens,” stated Mata, who also insisted on the “responsible use of the 112 emergency number in any emergency situation”.

Among the measures adopted for today are: the suspension of educational activities; suspension of activities at senior centres; suspension of UP activities; a recommendation to work from home wherever possible; closure of parks and public spaces with trees due to the risk of falling; suspension of outdoor sporting activities; and the preventive evacuation of flood-prone areas.
