Sometimes life throws unexpected challenges our way. For Gerry Hannam, this moment arrived during a pre-Christmas trip to London, when he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest while walking across Waterloo Bridge. Thanks to the swift actions of an off-duty paramedic and the immediate use of a defibrillator, his life was saved.
This life-changing event reshaped Gerry and Jenny Hannam perspective. Back in Spain, they decided to give back to the community by creating Save A Life (SAL), an initiative dedicated to raising awareness and providing life-saving defibrillators across Calahonda and the Costa del Sol.(Adapted excerpt from their Facebook page.)
In Sitio de Calahonda and El Zoco Shopping Centre, there are now three 24-hour defibrillators
available at:
-
Campanario Shopping Centre (next to Banco Sabadell)
-
El Zoco Shopping Centre-Pals Bar- (first floor)
-
Millenium Bar, Calle José de Orbaneja nº 22 (next to Miel y Nata)
We congratulate them and wish them continued success in their wonderful life-saving mission.
