2.- Following up on the previous point, some speed bumps that had loose or broken pieces have also been repaired. We would like to clarify to our residents that these speed bumps were installed years ago and although we have recently requested them to try to reduce the speed of some vehicles, the Town Hall has informed us that the inconveniences they cause outweigh the benefits, and therefore they are not being authorised. This is the reason we have not installed them. We have received enquiries and requests from some residents, and for the moment we must respond negatively. However, to address the high speeds at which some vehicles are travelling, several months ago we installed illuminated speed indicators, and the Local Police are monitoring speeds with a mobile radar in some streets.
3.- We often find that the areas around the rubbish bins are in a deplorable state. These situations are reported to the Town Hall persistently, as we believe they should maintain these areas in good condition, as well as any adjacent areas affected by the rubbish. This is complicated because we frequently encounter uncivil behavior from users.
Below, you can find a good example. The container area located in front of Calle Cristóbal Colón and the adjacent plot has finally been cleaned by the Town Hall after several weeks of insistence. On our part, we have installed a fence to prevent this from happening again.
4.- One of the tasks that occurs most frequently is the maintenance of the pavements. Keeping them in good condition is a laborious task and a challenge, as there are many kilometres to cover and only a couple of workers dedicated to it (among their many other tasks). We can only congratulate ourselves for having such good workers as Antonio and Adolfo.
Below, you can find a small representation of the latest work done:
5.- The EUC also has common gardens, parks, and fortunately many green areas. Although maintaining these spaces requires a lot of work, we must take pride in them, and we are sure our residents do as well.
Our gardener’s tasks include emptying litter bins, maintaining gardens, parks, streets, and green areas. Often, it can be a lot for one person, and of course, when necessary, colleagues lend a helping hand. Carlos does a great job, and we would like to congratulate him from here as well.
6.- There are two workers responsible for cleaning our streets. While we have managed to get the Town Hall to assist with the cleaning of Avenida de España, the work done by Jorge and Juan covers all the other streets and is highly valued by the residents. Regarding street cleaning, the workers follow a weekly route, starting with the streets that have the most foot traffic, as those are the ones that get dirtier. However, we have invaluable assistance from residents who inform us of any incidents related to cleanliness that need urgent attention, and these are addressed immediately before continuing with the established route.
