🌞 July Highlights

The month of July began with the celebration of Calahonda Day, a very special event that we prepare each year with great enthusiasm. In the days leading up to it, our staff worked tirelessly: putting up the banner on Avenida de España, preparing and decorating the park, arranging chairs and tables provided by the Town Hall, organising competitions, finding sponsors and much more.

This year, our traditional summer fair was held on Saturday 5 July. The children had a fantastic time taking part in the competitions, with the winners receiving a medal and all participants being given a bag of sweets. There were also raffles with prizes donated by various sponsors, and the evening came to a close with live music and a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks to Roberto’s, we had a stall where attendees could enjoy food and drinks. The event was a great success, as was the Calahonda Day Golf Tournament, which took place that same morning at La Siesta Golf Club.

As in the previous year, a photography competition was organised, in which the winning photograph was taken by Juana Alonso, who received as a prize a meal at the Bay of Bengal Restaurant

As mentioned in our June update, July also marked the start of the second semester, which involves all the administrative tasks related to community fees: sending letters to residents, managing outstanding payments, and processing bank collections.

At the end of the month, the company responsible for collecting garden waste was forced to temporarily close its recycling plant due to a problem with its facilities, which in turn obliged us to close our green waste deposit area for a short period. We would like to thank both gardeners and residents for their cooperation, which, together with the swift reopening of the plant, helped us resolve the situation satisfactorily.

In July, part of the pruning of the palm trees along our streets was carried out, which generated a large amount of green waste. We are grateful for the patience and understanding shown by all our neighbours.

As for maintenance, our staff have continued to deal with incidents and to reinforce street cleaning, which is particularly necessary during the summer months due to the increase in rubbish and waste. In addition, we are continuing with the repainting of pavements: Avenida de España has now been fully completed.

Here we leave you with a gallery of photos from July, as a picture is worth a thousand words.
