Works in January 2026

The works carried out in the urbanisation during the month of January, in addition to the usual tasks (repair of manholes, fence repairs, cleaning work and garden maintenance), have focused particularly on the following matters:

1.- Pine Processionary Caterpillar

At this time of year, the caterpillars are already descending from the trees, which understandably causes concern among residents, especially those with pets or children.

The reality is that there are numerous private plots where no phytosanitary treatment is carried out, and where we cannot intervene beyond reporting the matter to the Town Hall. There are also areas with difficult or impossible access, which considerably complicates fumigation work. This situation has occurred, for example, in Calle Huelva area, where access limitations have prevented us from acting as effectively as desired.

Looking ahead to next year, it will be necessary to implement an alternative system in those inaccessible areas, such as trunk injections in the pine trees, in order to improve pest control.

2.- Fallen Trees Due to Adverse Weather Conditions

Bad weather has caused several trees to fall, including some century-old specimens. This situation has required special attention from our operational services, as well as intervention by the fire brigade and municipal services.

As a result, the collection of pruning debris has increased significantly. This also coincides with the usual tree-pruning season, which has led to delays in collection. We would like to remind residents that large-scale pruning must be notified in advance at the office and entails an additional cost, as it is not included in the contract with the waste collection company.

3.- Illegal Dumping of Pruning Debris

The illegal dumping of pruning debris in public areas continues to be detected. Such actions create a knock-on effect, encouraging others to do the same.

All such incidents are reported to the Town Hall as infringements so that the appropriate measures may be taken.
