Works in December 2024

.- In the month of December, the spotlight is on Christmas decorations. Each year, we request the Town Hall to provide as many as possible, including illuminated figures and garlands, so that our streets appear festive and beautiful for those special days. Additionally, the EUC purchases and plants poinsettias for the lampposts and some gardens. We must say the result was very good; however, during such important dates, there were power supply issues in some streets of the neighbourhood, which overshadowed our efforts.

.- Although the installation and maintenance of the Christmas decorations have kept our staff quite busy, they have also carried out a significant number of tasks in our gardens.

.- Work on the streets has also occupied a large portion of the EUC workers’ time. Maintenance is essential to keep them in good condition. Tasks such as repairing utility covers, placing bollards that have been hit, fixing signs, securing utility covers that produce noise when cars pass over them, painting yellow lines, among others, have been carried out.

.- We have a team of two people dedicated to cleaning the streets of the neighbourhood and emptying litter bins. They follow a route to achieve optimal maintenance of our streets, although sometimes they need to respond to urgent cleaning tasks. For example, when it rains, they have to remove accumulated mud and clean the drainage grates on the streets to prevent flooding. Regarding the cleaning of Avda de España, we have managed to get the Town Hall to take responsibility for it, and it is being carried out by individuals employed through the Basic Income program.

.- Others: Incidents in green areas, such as a fallen tree.
