Aemet raises the alert for heavy rainfall in Málaga from orange to red.

Mijas Comunicación : “The State Meteorological Agency has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in the province. It will start at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday and continue throughout the day until 11:59 p.m. The affected areas include the Costa del Sol, Málaga city, the Guadalhorce Valley, and the Axarquía region. Aemet forecasts that up to 180 liters per square meter could accumulate during the day, as very heavy rainfall is expected, with a likelihood of locally torrential and even persistent rain. Warnings for rainfall have been extended to Thursday, with the Costa del Sol and Guadalhorce under an orange alert, while the rest of the region will remain under a yellow alert. Rain is expected to continue in the province through Friday, though in a weaker form.
